The course is worth the money!!Ĭlubhouse/Shop: 5 Stars Well stocked shop, clean bathrooms.Ĭarts and on course amenities: 4 Stars, The Couer D’Alene is the gold standard for this, with on course bathrooms that belong in a nice hotel. Regardless of the reviews about poor condition, that is certainly not the case at this point. We had a great experience, and enjoyed the course so much that we are going back tomorrow to play it in weather that is a bit more conducive. We found that there was generally less break than we read, and think that is mostly related to the severity of the surrounding slopes and the lines your eye sees and adds to the actual break of the green.Īs the weather improved, we found that we enjoyed the course more and more. Greens roll true, but be careful! They putt less severely than you expect. Long is better than short and it pays to have a yardage book and to actually play to your REAL yardages, not the ones that you get when you hit the ball perfectly. We both hit the green even with gusty 25 MPH winds and were very happy. Hole 3 is an up hill par 3 to a tabletop green and plays a little longer than expected. Each hole seems to be too gorgeous to possibly be overshadowed by the next, but from tee to green, the place is simply amazing, and each hole is wonderful in itself. The contrast of green with sugar white sand and brown cliffs and waste areas is difficult to describe, but almost overwhelmingly beautiful at times. By the 4th whole, the rain had stopped and the winds slowly died the longer we played.įirst, everyone should know that this course is spectacular. We found the course to be in exceptional shape.Īs I noted we started in gusty 10-25 MPH winds with some spitting rain, but it wasn’t enough to actually get us wet, just cause a few spots on our glasses. We started as a storm was blowing through and we were concerned that we might be rained/blown off the course, so we checked with the pro shop on the course on their weather policy, and found it was fair and appropriate.Īfter we finished, I read through the reviews and was astonished, because many of the most prominent reviews did not reflect our experience at all. He plays mostly in Arizona, and I play mostly in Washington State, so we are used to courses that are very different overall. A long time friend and I, who have both played courses all over the US and Mexico decided to spend the chunk of change necessary to play. It’s been a bucket list course for at least a decade. I had intentionally not read any reviews, and based my decision to play there off recommendations from friends who had played there in the past.
